Yes.  Acupuncture is safe when practiced properly by a trained licensed professional.  We have undergone years of studying and training to earn our Masters and Doctorate degrees in Chinese medicine and become licensed acupuncturists.  Your safety is our top priority.

what training is required?

In New York State, acupuncturists are independent health care providers.  A New York State Licensed Acupuncturist is required to undertake a course of study involving over 4,000 hours of classroom instruction, supervised clinical experience, and out of classroom or out of clinic study.  This must be done at an institution that is accredited by an agency recognized by the Board of Regents.  Additionally, to obtain a license, an acupuncturist must successfully complete and pass a series of rigorous examinations regulated by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
